Beautiful 28 inch Martina, mold circ 1988, by doll artist Rotraut Schrott, Made by Jan Bayless, she is in mint condition, she includes a certificates, it accompanied the doll to its new owner. This Doll was made for a very special person; my personal inscriptions were carved in her green wear before I fired her. She is a perfect example of my One-of-a-Kind Dolls by Jan. She has a long blond human hair wig and blue blown glass eyes; her clothing is also all handmade. She has no imperfections of any kind. Her certificate I dated and framed, and read as follows:
My name is Martina; I was made by Jan Bayless the year "1988". I was made especially for Linda McCray. Every cut of the knife, and every stroke of the paint brush, was done in memory of our life long friendship, Based on "Mutual Love and Understanding". My body has the following inscriptions carved into my porcelain before I was fired.
1. The back of my head is inscribed as follows: To My lifelong friend W/Love” Jan Bayless 1988. “Done with all my Love." (Below my arm and leg casing inscription) 2. My left arm inscribed as follows: " Near in thought always" 3. My right arm inscribed as follows: "After Linda I belong to Tania" 4. My left leg inscribed as follows: "I love you Old Friend" 5. My right leg inscribed as follows: My true Friend in life." Lastly: My Music box plays: "Those Were The Days" (And they certainly were) With All My Love Jan Bayless "1988"
Next I sit on a special full size Carousel Horse made by Jan Bayless. As well, the saddle bridle, and the mane and tail were all hand sculpted, as well as hand painted, eyes and all...Also if you were to count the roses that adorn my horse, you would find 189 roses that were all hand sculped, fired and painted by Jan. Base to top of pole is 65 inches tall, and my horse is 48 inches wide.
